Review:

Every now and then I pick up a video because it has something different or unusual. This movie has Dyanna Lauren without Brad Armstrong, a big plus, and it's Jon Dough's directorial debut, interesting. Dyanna is one of my favorite adult stars and I always enjoy watching her. Jon Dough has been great in front of the camera and I wanted to see how he did behind it. The only thing that wasn't on the box was that Paul Thomas produced it. Thomas is not on my list of top adult movie producers, and this video drops him near the bottom. I don't want to totally rip Dough's directing because I think he may have been in a situation that prohibited him from doing a better job, at least I hope that's the case.

This film looks like it was written, filmed, edited and released in a day and a half. The plot is terrible, the dialogue is inane, the editing is some of the worst I've ever seen and...Hold it, did I say plot, there is no plot, I don't know what they are trying to get at. I'd give you a run down of the storyline, but you'd think I was on drugs. Let's see, they called it a "dark comedy" on the box, I guess that means that they were ashamed to admit they were trying to make a real movie. The only attempts at humor are idiotic appearances by Henri Pachard(Who lets this guy in these films? Is he an investor?) and some totally off the wall bit while the final credits are rolling.

The movie is a disjointed collection of scenes and characters that are never brought together in spite of all the time that is spent on dialogue.  It makes no sense. The sound editing is the pits, the levels go up and down throughout. What little music there is, is pitiful. Scenes start out with music and then it stops and you are left with poor, poor audio editing and dubbing. The camera work sucks, bad angles and distances. The opening scene with Dyanna and Steven St.Croix starts off well enough but it is so rushed and cut up that you never get to really enjoy it. Dough put 3 sex scenes in the first 26 minutes of the movie then took 9 minutes for his scene with Monique DeMoan, then he put 3 more into the last 19 minutes. They could have cut 2 of the scenes(starting with Dough's), put a little more thought into developement, editing and continuity and had plenty of time to give us five good sex scenes. Speaking of editing, at the start of Dough's scene with DeMoan, he handcuffs her and throws her on the bed. When she sits up, the handcuffs are gone. How does that big a mistake get out of the editing room?

This is one more of Vivid's bombs. Their approach to making adult films is: film anything, hire the best looking, big name star we can find and put her on the box cover, lie like hell in the teaser and sell this crap. It's been a long time since I've seen a Vivid production that wasn't a big disappointment and this film is one of the biggest. The actresses they have in their movies, including this one, are some of the hottest and sexiest in the business and apparently they're making lots of money, so why can't they put out a film that actually delivers what they say it's going to? The only answer I have is producers and directors.

I can't believe that I could actually be this down on a film that has Dyanna Lauren in it (I'm driving 200 miles this weekend to see her perform), but even she couldn't save this one. I'm hoping that she gets loose from Vivid.

PT says 1, don't rent or buy this movie, even with someone else's money!!!.
