Review: |
| Director Francois is trying to get production of his latest adult film completed before his backers pull the plug. Everything seems to go wrong and he's not going to make his deadline. His starlet has abandoned the set, the inspector wants to shut him down and the male lead has to leave by 2pm to make another shoot. But in the end you have to remember that this is adult cinema and it doesn't really matter what happens as long as you deliver the product. If you can produce even a half-ass film, you'll get another chance. A comedic effort from VCA, Director's Cut falls into the same category as most other adult comedies. It should be avoided at all costs. Comedy takes way more writing skill, timing, dedication, effort and talent than you're likely to find in an adult production company. This movie is full of sight gags that will have you groaning instead of laughing, poorly done fake accents and insufferable dialogue. The out-takes are funnier than the movie. Besides being unfunny, the sex scenes are so heavily edited that the heat was left on the cutting room floor. This is a cable/hardcore movie that I can't see appealing to either audience. Evan Stone's performance makes Jonathan Morgan look like a comic genius. I can't tell any difference between Evan being dramatic and Evan being funny, his acting ability is even worse than his sexual performance. Every time I see his name on the credits I know I'll be fighting the urge to fast-forward. I did see a couple of my favorites in the cast list, Ryan Conner and Dee, but their scenes were heavily edited and short. Dee's scene with Chris Cannon was only seven minutes. Ryan's scene with Briana was roughly the same length and very abruptly cut off. There are seven sex scenes, but most of them are very short and have more softcore footage and extreme close-ups than I care for. I wish the adult industry would realize that they don't have the talent, time or money to make a decent comedy and they should just quit trying. What they see as comedies are simply adolescent and un-erotic hodge-podges that don't elicit laughs or wood, so what's the point. PT says 2, if you're looking for a laugh, go to Blockbuster. |
