| Scene 3 - other=blindfold Top Notch Bitches is the first offering from the brand new Gina Lynn Productions. It's a mix of straight gonzo and set up scenes. With Gina Lynn, Cherokee and Nicole Sheridan in the cast, I was anxious to pop it in the DVD player and see what was happening. The first thing that struck me was the absence of credits (they only appear on the box cover). The next thing I noticed was the poor sound levels, maybe due to Travis Knight's tendency to mumble when he speaks. Whatever the reason, if the sound's loud enough to hear the intros, it'll blast you out when the action starts. The DVD extras are chapter starts, including a section for just the cum shots, and three minutes of BTS action. There is also a huge seventy-one picture slide show, but some of the pictures are placed sideways. The box also advertises bonus footage, but it's not in the DVD extras, so if you don't see the VHS tape you won't know it's there. The action is good, but the camera work distracts from it. It looks like the cameraperson couldn't decide what he wanted to shoot and so he was constantly moving and zooming in and out. There were also points in the action where the girls seemed to be paying more attention to what was happening off-screen than on. It also seems that more emphasis is placed on novel positions than sexual heat, giving the scenes a rehearsed feeling. This is added to by the choppy editing. Having said all this, I still enjoyed the flick for three simple reasons...Gina Lynn, Nicole Sheridan and Cherokee. Cherokee's flexibility and world class booty are a great way to start a movie. Gina Lynn is sexuality personified (though I could have done without Alexis Amore in the scene). Nicole Sheridan's scene with Voodoo was the hottest in the film and a perfect way to end. My over-all impression is that the scenes were over directed with no clear sense of purpose. This, combined with the choppy editing and poor camera work, kills a lot of the potential heat. Still, it's a start and with Gina Lynn's star power available I'm sure that GLP will have no problems selling their product. I know I'm looking forward to their next production, especially if Gina's in the cast, to see how they progress. PT says 3, it has some flaws, but it also has Gina, Nicole and Cherokee. |
