Review: |
| This movie should be an example for other
production companies and directors to go by. It had all the things I enjoy in a good
fuck-flick. Excellent lighting, good editing, solid storyline and dialogue, great camera
work, and outstanding production. Oh, and did I mention dynamite sex. Storyline goes: Nici and Tom work together and fight constantly. Tom is trying to get rid of his possessive girlfriend(Missy) who keeps showing up for fantasy sex and Nici dumps her wimpy boyfriend(Mickey) who won't fuck her in the ass(is he crazy?!!!). Tom tries phone sex and ends up calling Nici's ad. They don't recognize who they are talking to and you can guess the rest. The storyline holds up throughout the movie and the dialogue is light-hearted, funny at times, but never crosses into the "corny" as happens too often in adult films. There's no sound dubbing or scene looping in this video(a big plus) and the editing in the sex scenes keeps them flowing smoothly. While this isn't a big budget production, Toni Brooks gets high marks for keeping the sets and costumes real and believable. The sex scenes were all shorter than is normal but the action and camera work were top rate. You won't get any gimmicks or special effects here, just good sex from an ensemble of top talent who enjoy their work. I especially liked that Michael Zen caught the facial expressions of the actresses along with the action. There are plenty of close-up penetration shots, and even more full-action angles. While the music wasn't inspiring, it never drowned out the dialogue and pretty much fit the storyline. The only negative would be the claim on the box of "adult video's first rotating DP". I don't know what that is and didn't see anything unusual in the film's only DP scene. You won't fast-forward through any of the sex scenes and you shouldn't pass by the rest of it. Doubleheader gets a solid 4 rating and should be on your rental list or in you stroke-flick library. ©1999 Smuttco, Inc. |
