Review: |
| Alan Ribbot(John Decker) is an award winning jazz saxophonist who hasn't performed in ten years. He's also married to Rose(Sydnee Steele) and fucking whatever he can, on the side. One day he gets a call from Marissa(Cassidey) asking him to come play at her club in New York. He agrees and flies off to play the gig. He's so nervous about performing, that he almost backs out, but he pulls it together and is a big hit. Since Alan hasn't gotten a room yet, Marissa lets him stay at her place. Her boyfriend(Devin Wolf) comes over and they have sex while Alan is on the couch in the other room. For some reason, Marissa gets pissed at her boyfriend and kicks him out. Recording studio exec, Paul West(Alec Metro) comes to the club to hear Alan and offers him a recording contract. Alan makes Marissa his agent on the spot and they go off to celebrate. Marissa flies out to LA, where the recording studio is located and Alan lives. Alan shows her around the town, including a trip to a massage parlor where they both get hand jobs from the masseuse(Mia Smiles). And this is just the first thirty minutes. Look, let me give you the quick version. Alan's an asshole, Marissa's a bitch and Rose is a fool. Rose and Marissa both dump Alan and he's left with nothing. Along the way there are improbable situations that lead to sex and there's really good music. Besides cramming seven short sex scenes into this flick, there are also a few almost sex scenes. The sex is pretty good for a two-way movie and Cassidey's scenes even overcome the poor editing. Sydnee Steele also turns in a good performance with Lexington Steele. I also want to mention that, in a film rife with mediocre acting performances, Sydnee Steele's portrayal was outstanding. Sydnee delivered the complete package in the role of Rose. The music was excellent, if you don't pay any attention to John Decker playing the air-sax. The story line was Ok, but very hard to follow in spots. The editing was as poor as you would expect from a movie that is marketed more to the cable market than hardcore. The film quality was grainy, something I've seen more and more with Vivid Film. The production was average, but I have a problem when there is a bar or club scene in a porn flick. They always look empty and I wonder how this place can keep the doors open, let alone fly an act across the country to perform there. This movie was nominated for the AVN Best Film award. Sad. A good feature film should make you forget about the fast forward on the remote, this one doesn't, and it should sure have better film quality. PT says 3, Cassidey looked good. |
