| Laura(Asia Carrera) wants
more from her life than being the wife of the Godfather's son. She's made
a bet with the Don that she can turn around the Nevada Casino and go on
to bigger things in the organization or she will marry his son, Vito, and
become the perfect baby making mafioso wife. The Nevada is a dump and losing
money hand over fist, the gambling commission is about to audit it and
Laura can see dirty diapers in her future. She has lost all the employees
at the casino and hires hookers to replace them. Now the joint's jumping
and the money's rolling in, but she's broken every rule in the book and
the commission audit is looming. Laura has one of her girls seduce the
auditor and gets the whole scene on tape. She's done it, the casino's a
success, the wedding with Vito is off and Laura has replaced the Don as
head of the family in Las Vegas.
This is a pretty good plot
and could have been a real good movie if there had been a little more effort
and money put into it. Asia Carrera is the only one of the main characters
that actually dresses and carries their part. William Margold does not
give the impression of a mob boss, more like someone's overbearing, overindulged
uncle. Jolean got into the movie by winning a contest and actually does
a respectable job in her limited part. While there are a good number of
sex scenes, scenes 5-10 all take place at the same time and just when one
gets interesting, the action would shift to another couple. I hate it when
the action switches back and forth between two scenes, let alone six. Caroline
Pierce's scene was quite unique as she does herself on a dildo attached
to a spinning roulette wheel. The rest of the sex was good with Asia and
Kim Chambers turning in some outstanding performances, as usual.
For all the hype on this movie,
I was disappointed with the final product. Very poor production, writing,
casting and dialogue combined with some incredibly poor acting make this
a one hander (the other will have to be on the fast forward at all times).
The plot didn't require as much dialogue as there was and the sex scenes
deserved more time than they were afforded. Godaughter has all the
appearances of a big budget film, without the budget. They tried to put
too much into it without the resources to pull it off and all parts of
the film suffered.
Any movie that has Asia Carrera
in it is worth seeing (even if you just go straight to her scenes and skip
the rest). When you add Kim Chambers and newcomer Jolean into the mix,
it makes up for a lot of the flaws.
PT says 3, just barely and
only because of Asia and Kim. |
