There is a God after
all! Tina Tyler, one of my
all-time favorite performers, has announced that she is returning to work
in front of the cameras. That will benefit the porn industry exponentially, which
desperately needs the unmatched energy and dedication that Tina exudes. Not only does Tina know how to
turn up the heat in any movie that she’s appeared in, but she is
arguably one the best actresses in the industry. Tina’s recent announcement has
been the best news I’ve heard so far this year. Trapper: Thank you, Tina, for spending some time
with me to answer some of these questions. Tina:
Thank YOU for possibly the best
introduction I’ve ever gotten! Trapper: So Tina, what made you decide to quit
working as a publicist for Sin City, and want to return to performing? Tina:
The job and I just didn’t fit.
I have tremendous respect for everyone at Sin City and harbor no ill will
at all. Performing is something that I’ve really missed doing. There’s
nothing quite like being in front of a camera. Trapper: For some time you have tried directing some features for Pandora Cinema. Did you like it? Was it more work than you expected? Tina: I really
enjoyed my experiences with Pandora and I think I made some quality
projects there. Directing is definitely a lot of work, but with the right
project, crew and cast it can be a very rewarding experience. Trapper:
I read that you wanted to direct movies that
successfully fused together sex and art.
Did you think you accomplished that goal? Tina: I’m
getting closer to it every time I chose to direct, but I think I’ve yet
to really reach that goal. Trapper: In Going Down, one of our reviewers gave you high praise for you direction. I read, since I haven’t watched the movie yet, that there is a gay masturbation scene. Viewers of porn don’t normally get to see that kind of action, at least in straight porn. Did you know that you were testing some uncharted waters, and do you think there’s an audience out there for that kind of action? Tina: I absolutely knew that it would cause some controversy. I chose to include that scene because it’s the kind of thing that I, personally, like to watch and since I was masturbating to the act, I wanted to make sure it was something that would inspire me. As far as an audience for it is concerned, I know a lot of straight women (and not so straight men) that love nothing better. Trapper:
In fact, you’ve appeared in a few
bi-sexual movies, not only are
there girl-girl scenes, but male-male as well. Correct? Why did you choose to perform in
those movies? Tina: I chose to perform in bi-sex movies for the same
reason I chose any movie I was in, it was something I wanted to do. I’ve
always found man on man sex to be a huge turn on. In fact, some of my first
sexual fantasies centered on gay sex… it was a fantasy come true. Trapper: Is there a
respectable audience for bi-sexual movies? Tina: Define respectable ;) Seriously, a large percentage of
my fan base comes from having performed in Bi scenes. Trapper: I read that you aren’t a big fan of
anal penetration. Throughout
your career, have you been pressured many times to do it? Tina: Pressured isn’t really the right word, but the
question has been posed a little too often for my liking. Trapper: Some movies
today feature girls having double-penetration anal sex. Sometimes I notice their reactions, and they are fighting
through the pain. Can that
actually feel good, and is it degrading in your opinion? Tina: I don’t see it as degrading. After all, the woman
chose to be there and participate and she’s getting well paid. Personally,
I chose not to do anything I don’t truly enjoy on camera. Trapper: Why is there
such a demand for anal sex in adult movies? Tina: Your guess is as good as mine. Trapper: Gonzo
appears to be getting more and more popular these days, I was wondering if
you had any ideas of why. Tina: Traditionally porn has been seen as a fantasy. I think
Gonzo broke down a Chinese wall by making the experience of watching porn
more of a voyeuristic experience... like you’re peeping on your neighbors.
Also, the demand for sex without story line is a big one. Trapper: The movies I
have mainly seen you in have been features, but I saw that you did some
gonzo work. In particular, I
noticed that you did a gang-bang movie.
Do you really enjoy getting pounded by seven or ten guys, and then
getting squirted everywhere with manjuice? Tina: To this day that remains one of my favorite scenes.
There was a real sense of power to be in the middle of 7 guys who all wanted
you. As for the cum shots… yummy. Trapper: I know that
you didn’t come into the adult business until your mid-to-late 20’s. What were you doing before then? Tina: Correct, I was 27 when I started. Before porn I
feature danced across Canada for 8 years. Trapper: What was
your reaction when you performed your first scene? Did you think to yourself, “I
could do this for a long time.”? Tina: Quite the opposite. After the scene was over, I thought, “I could make a career out of this.” Trapper: You’ve
been in the biz for over a decade, what has changed the most since you first
started working? Tina: I think the biggest change is the level of fame that
can be achieved now as opposed to then. Mainstream has been inching their
door open to us slowly, but surely. Trapper: If there is
one major difference in porn today than 10 years ago, it’s how mainstream
it has become. Why is the porn
industry so prevalent in our society? Tina: I think this country is getting a little tired of
being so sexually repressed. It’s like anything you’re denied; sooner or
later you’re going to binge on it. Trapper: It appears
that there is a sudden push by some of the new talent to stay “natural.” I think that’s a good thing. What are some of your ideas about
silicone? Tina: I’ve never gone under the knife (and that’s really
how I look at it), but I count myself lucky to never have needed it. I have
received botox injections, so getting a little help is not something I’m
above doing. I just worry that surgery is chosen for the wrong reasons. If
you’re going to do it, make sure it’s something that you really can’t
live without regardless of what your profession may be. Trapper: You’ve
worked with many people through the years.
Who are some of your most favorite performers that you’ve worked
with? Tina: My two all time faves are Herschel Savage and Jeanna
Fine Trapper: Do you tend
to enjoy rough sex, or does it depend on your mood? Tina: I enjoy a good grudge fuck from time to time, but if
the sex is aggressive, I prefer it to be aggressive from both partners… I
like to give as good as I get in those scenes as opposed to just taking it. Trapper: If you had
your choice between men or women on any given night, whom would you choose? Tina: Men… every time. Trapper: Now, Tina,
I’ve read many good reviews on your talented acting ability. I have to agree with them.
When I saw you play the Devil in The Devil in Miss Jones 6, I thought
your acting performance was one of the best that I had witnessed in the
adult genre in many years. Do
you take pride in your acting, and do you take the acting part in porn
seriously? Tina: I very much take pride in my acting performances and
sometimes take it a little too seriously. Acting is something that I’ve
always enjoyed and pursued. I spend as much time as I can rehearsing at home
with any given script. Trapper: You obviously have a talent for acting. When you were younger, was acting something you wanted to explore? Tina: Absolutely. I took classes and appeared in some local
theatre productions, and of course, went on too many auditions to count. Trapper: Who do you
believe are some of the greatest American actresses? Tina: Living: Meryl Streep, Maggie Smith (okay, not
American, but…), Cher, Cecily Tyson and Katherine Keener.
Not so living: Bette Davis, Greta Garbo
and Rita Hayworth. Trapper: Did any of
these women help shape the way you approach acting? Tina: LOL! I think Cher has been influential in my daily
life… she’s just so herself and very comfortable in her own skin and
that’s what acting is really all about. Trapper: Many conservatives and feminist have continuously attacked the porn industry for objectifying women, and depicting women as only expressing their power through their sexuality. What do you say to these people? Tina: A woman’s sexuality is a source of great power,
admittedly not her only source of power. It wasn’t that long ago that the
women’s movement was encouraging women to discover their sexuality and
embrace it... what changed? We are talking about the sex industry and while
women are using their sexuality here, so are men. I think porn is an equal
opportunity objectifyer. Trapper: Tina, you
announced your retirement about a year ago, and now you’re back. How long can your fans expect you to
perform? Tina: Actually, it’s been just over 2 years now. I’ve
announced my comeback will last for one final year… but you never know. Trapper: How can your
fans contact you, and do you have a website? Tina: Fans can email me at tinatyler65@yahoo.com
or join my yahoo group at groups.yahoo.com/group/tinatyler65/ Trapper: Anything
else we should look for? Tina: I’ll be launching a web site this year, but I’ll
keep you posted as thing progress. Trapper: Thank you
very, very much for taking some time out of your busy schedule to talk with
me. I anxiously look forward to
viewing your future performances, and I think it’s great that you’re
coming back. Porn needs you
Tina. I think you should stay
until your 50’s. Good luck in
the future. Tina: Thank you so very much for an intelligent interview. |
